Belinda has worked in health care in both the private and nonprofit sector. Working one on one with patients and advocating for their needs with The Kidney Foundation of Canada has allowed her to hear the challenges faced by both patients and health care professionals. This is when she realized how badly we need change in Ontario.
Belinda is a first generation Canadian with her parents being born in Portugal and Trinidad. She is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor Science in Biological Anthropology.
Belinda is a longstanding volunteer with The Eczema Society of Canada and in the past she has volunteered as a Big Sister. This is in addition to her long standing volunteerism in politics at the federal and provincial levels. She and her husband Jim live in Preston with their son Victor and their corgi.
